DC

Cardiac catheterization

It is a procedure that examines the functioning of the heart with the use of tubes or catheters designed to work inside the cardiovascular system. This procedure will be performed in a Hemodynamics Laboratory and allows pressure records to be obtained from the cardiac chambers and main blood vessels, identifying obstructions in cases of the heart and treating them through the use of stents or endoprostheses.

Coronary and peripheral angioplasty

Coronary angioplasty is a minimally invasive procedure that involves unblocking the arteries of the heart through the use of balloons and stents or endoprostheses to restore blood flow to tissue at risk of heart attack.
Peripheral angioplasty allows reopening blocked arteries from inside the blood vessel through the use of catheters, balloons and dedicated stents on a millimeter scale, with the aim of restoring blood flow to the affected territory and includes the treatment of the aorta and its main branches.

I.E.

Structural intervention

It is an area of interventional cardiology that uses catheters, balloons and dedicated metallic devices for the treatment of conditions that affect the structure of the heart, including the closure of congenital or acquired defects of the atrial or ventricular septum, the closure of the atrial appendage in patients at risk of cardiac embolism, reduction in size of the interventricular septum in patients with hypertrophy cardiomyopathy, repair of the mitral valve (Mitraclip) and replacement of the aortic valve through catheter (TAVI).
